What do we do?

Law May Counselling is a private counselling practice which specialises in psychotherapy and psychosexual therapy. We provide strictly confidential services in counselling for individuals, couples and families as well as professional clinical supervision and workshops.

What are the credentials of the counsellor?

Law May has been practicing as a clinical counsellor, psychotherapist, sexologist and clinical supervisor for over ten years. She is accredited with Australian Counselling Association as a clinical member level 4 as well as clinical supervisor. She is also registered as a Sex Therapist of The Australian Society of Sex Educators, Researchers and Therapists NSW

Law May has a bachelor degree in Sociology, Social Science (CUHK); a graduate certificate in Educational Counselling (Monash University); a masters degree in Counselling & Applied Psychotherapy (Jensen Newman Institute); and a graduate diploma in Sexology, Health Science (Curtin University).

Law May has worked with individuals, couples, families, groups and communities in both public and private settings. She has extensive experience in helping people affected by domestic violence, addiction, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, relationship/ sexuality issues and mental health issues. She also worked with people who would like to reach their life goals or live their life to the fullest.

What does counselling do?

The counsellor listens to your concerns/presenting issues/whatever goals you've set for coming to therapy. She will work with you to fine-tune what you want to achieve and help you understand your sense of self; attachment patterns; sexuality; how thoughts, affects, somatic experience and behaviour are interconnected; and what may have been stopping you from reaching what you want.

How long is the counselling session?

Appointments are 60 minutes for a standard session and 90 minutes for couple sessions . Longer sessions can be arranged if required. All sessions conducted according to the Australian Counselling Association Codes of Ethics & Conduct.

What is the cancellation policy?

24 hours notice is required for cancellation of appointments - otherwise the full fee will apply.
